Example number 1 - Axway threatened the company I’m currently consulting at with legal action. You see, Axway lied to me, and then flat out broke promises, and I used this blog to call them out on it. Now being a 3rd party vendor (just like Axway), hired to simply make Axway’s software work, the company I consult for has absolutely no tie to my personal blogs. Shy threaten legal action then? Just to get me in trouble at the company I consult for? Pretty crappy if you ask me!!!

Examples number 2 - a few weeks later, you have have seen Axway’s ridiculous certificate expiration issue where by the SSL certs for the XSR-RA and XSR-MA stopped working. I opened a support case, got a support rep assigned, and then ran into major issues with it! You see the script that encrypted the passwrd file for the ssl cert corruped the file, and so it didn’t work. I called Axway and asked for the person on the case, only to find out he was at lunch. I then asked by name for 4 other gateway support reps since i needed immediate help. Gold old Jacob who answers the phone finally ame back and said they were all at lunch. I said okay, hung up, and went to managmenet where i’m consulting to escalate this issue. Within 15 or 20 minutes I got a call back, and management where I consult was told “Tony only asked for the person asssigned to the case, somebody else could have helped him!” This is pretty odd, since I specifically asked for 5 people by name and were told they were all at lunch. Another flat out lie.

We finally got somebody on the phone, and I demonstrated what i was doing - perofming the same actions over and over again to try to get the routers to start, and about the 35th time it worked. I demonstrated the bash history to prove that i had been doing just that, and so he closed the case. When closing the case, Axway management (the same one who told my bosses i only asked for one guy) called my management and told them it didn’t work because i deviated from procedures.

To sum up - I called support, nobody answered. We called management, management said I lied, and there were people there. Somebody came on, didn’t fix the problem (i fixed it by repeating the process dozens of times. They still told my management I was wrong, even though I proved time and time again that the script they provided to encrypt the password for the script was simply corrupting the file.

Bottom line - They screwed up. Their certs expired and they didn’t proactively notify us. WE found it, tried to fix it, and then axway REAMED me by lying to my management about my actions. I dont know if its because they were scared of looking dumb, because I knew more than tham, or what, but that makes 3 (threatening legal action, lying about who i asked for at support, and saying i deviated from procedure and caused problems). 3 Times that they blatantly and without cause attempted to make me look bad to the people hiring me for my consulting services. My lawyer has advised me that another such instance will result in a cease and desist letter, and further action if it’s ecessary.

So - Welcome to the day of an Axway user!!!!!!!!!
